KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – Mike Vandall has been hired as mortgage operations manager for Consumers Credit Union. He will be responsible for supervising operations and fulfillment functions of the mortgage department, while additionally overseeing staff training and process development.
“I particularly enjoy working with first-time home buyers, getting them started on a path of responsible and sustainable ownership,” says Vandall. “Building systems and processes to support this effort will be an important part of my work with Consumers.”
Vandall joins Consumers with more than 20 years in various positions within the mortgage field. He most recently worked as a mortgage operations manager for a credit union in St. Joseph, Mich.
Consumers Credit Union is pleased to announce the addition of veteran mortgage loan officer John Hatridge. Hatridge brings 24 years of mortgage loan experience into his new Consumers role, where he will help members understand and navigate through the home buying process. He will also develop relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, and other centers of influence in the community to establish partnerships.
When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Hatridge says, “I help people purchase their piece of the American Dream.” Hatridge is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a major in finance and a minor in accounting.
Consumers Credit Union is also pleased to announce the promotion of Shawn Detamore to office manager of the Milham Office. She began her career at Consumers in 2011 as an onsite business developer and ultimately transitioned into roles as an MSR and assistant office manager, where she most recently served at the Centre Avenue Office. Detamore has also been the Chair of the Senior Services Meals on Wheels committee for Consumers for multiple years.
“I am a firm believer in doing the job before getting the title,” says Detamore. “I will really enjoy watching the growth and development of my team and seeing how they transform into servant leaders.” Detamore is a graduate of Davenport University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She also earned a post-bachelor’s degree in forensic accounting and a master’s degree in accounting.
