COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While most main roads in Branch County are in good shape Friday morning following the winter storm that moved into the area Wednesday and Thursday, most side roads remain slippery. That’s caused a mixed bag of closings and delays in the area.
Coldwater Community Schools closed Friday. Superintendent Terry Boguth says they normally would have had a 2 hour delay, but because Friday’s are Early Release days, that wasn’t workable. The Coldwater High School Symphonic Band will still participate in the District Band Festival at Three Rivers this evening. Students should report to the high school at 2:30 p.m.
Others schools closed included Union City, Tekonsha, Pansophia Academy, St Mary’s of Assumption in Bronson, and St Charles Borromeo School in Coldwater. Bronson Comunity Schools decided on a 2 hour delay, while Quincy Community Schools remained open Friday.
Because of the Coldwater closing and Bronson delay, the Branch Intermediate School District decided to close. That includes the Branch Area Careers Center and Waldron Center.
