COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the 4th straight year, the Coldwater High School Symphonic Band has qualified for the state band festival. The band received a straight “one” rating at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 11 Festival at Three Rivers High School Friday night.
The band was rated by three judges during their regular three-song concert performance, and then had to sight read another tune before a judge with only 5 minutes of practice. Only bands with a “one” rating advance to the state festival, which will be held later this spring.
The Coldwater Concert Band will perform Saturday afternoon at Three Rivers High School (1:00 p.m.). The Bronson High School Concert Band received a “two” rating for their performance Friday afternoon.
