COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -It’s often hard to imagine that in the United States, 1 in 6 families are “food insecure” and 1 in 4 children are growing up in a food insecure household. Recovering from this and helping to feed these households is a worthwhile effort that PS Food Mart Stores (Folk Oil) are very proud to be involved in.
For the 7th year in a row, PS Food Mart Stores (your local CITGO Marketer) will be offering the “Fight Hunger, Give Hope” campaign to help the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, March 1-14 2016. Local food banks are still searching to try to replace resources so parents can continue to feed their children and the elderly will not go without.
Area PS Food Mart Stores and their generous and creative employees are planning an even bigger push this year to help PS Food Mart Charities provide generous financial support for the Food Bank of South Central Michigan which services the Branch, Calhoun, Jackson, Hillsdale and Lenawee County areas. Where PS Food Mart operates, generous support is needed for local area school backpack food programs and to local food pantries.
Once again this year, customers at PS Food Mart will be asked to “tear a square” and make a $1 or $5 donation to the “Fight Hunger, Give Hope” campaign. Other creative and additional PS Food Mart employee fundraising efforts will also be ready for customer participation. Money donated provides over a half million meals through local food banks, pantries and back pack programs. The enthusiasm of the PS Food Mart employees, and their energy and effort in this campaign, along with customer generosity, makes this a successful campaign every year.
The need for food is a year-round effort of the Food Bank of South Central Michigan. The March 1-March 14 campaign is a convenient way for customers to help their local communities where PS Food Mart Stores are located. Customers are always the key in this worthwhile campaign and PS Food Mart appreciates every one.
