COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Should the City of Coldwater consider a “road diet” on Marshall Street? Roundabout construction at State and Marshall Streets? Or more housing near downtown?
City officials are looking for input on those topics and others at two special sessions this afternoon and this evening, as they continue development of Coldwater’s revised Master Plan. According to Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker, the City of Coldwater has seen significant changes in the past few years. Baker says renovation of the Tibbts Opera House and Kerr building downtown along with new industrial development activity bringing hundreds of jobs to the area are reasons to think optimistically about the future.
A new Master Plan for the city is under development, and two presentations on the status of the plan will be held today from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Community Health Center of Branch County’s Community Care and Conference Center. City officials will be on hand to gather input from citizens on their vision for the future of Coldwater.
