COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Traffic patterns and student safety concerns will be addressed with work planned this spring and summer at Max Larsen and Jefferson elementaries in the Coldwater school district. Two classrooms will be added at Jefferson Elementary, as well as a more secure front entrance to the building. The driveway along Vans Avenue will also be reworked to allow a better traffic flow for parents picking up their students after school.
There will also be extensive parking lot and driveway work at Max Larsen Elementary to further separate the bus and car traffic around the school.
Shawn Parshall from TowerPinkster Architects and Engineers updated the Coldwater Planning Commission on the work at their meeting Monday.
In addition to the work at the two elementary buildings, electrical and mechanical work in scheduled at Legg Middle School. Extensive work will be done at Coldwater High School’s Cardinal Field, including the construction of a new press box. The timeline calls for the press box to be completed by the start of the 2016 football season this fall.
