COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority approved an $83,000 budget for 2016 and 2017 on Wednesday morning and sent it on to the City Council for final passage.
Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker said there would be three sources of revenue including the capture of property taxes and a general fund contribution from the city for flowers.
He said expenses would total about $81,000. One of the items under expenses would be the leasing of the marquee at the former Main Theater. Baker said they were still working with the building owner on the lease.
In addition, Baker said officials are working with a couple of potential downtown prospects.
Baker also said the Tibbits parking lot reconstruction has resumed with the warmer weather.
City Manager Jeff Budd said a lot of unknowns were found underneath the parking lot including a building that was buried.
The final part of the three phase project will be work on South Hanchett. Budd said Hanchett will be closed starting Monday for the duration of the project but crews will work around the upcoming performances at the Tibbits Opera House.
