COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved a contract with Integrated Architecture of Grand Rapids for design services of the Heritage Park tennis court project on Monday night. Their fee is $43,500 with $8,500 being donated. Bids will be opened on April 12, 2016. Integrated Architecture did the design work for the Browne Aquatic and Recreation Centers.
In other business, the Council scheduled a budget workshop for April 18th. The recommended 2016-17 budget will be presented at the April 25th Council meeting. A public hearing will be on June 13 with adoption scheduled for June 27.
All of the Clemens Food Group-related resolutions on Mondays agenda were approved. City Manager Jeff Budd pointed out that the planned extension of water/wastewater and electric services were due to be done anyway regardless of the status of the Clemens project.
Meanwhile, the city-owned lot at 67 West Alden Street was sold to Kim Farst for $300 plus closing costs. The sales agreement was provisionally approved at the February 22 meeting and under the City Charter had to sit on the table for 30 days.
The provisionally approved sale of a city-owned lot at 141 Cutter Avenue to Branch County Habitat for Humanity now must sit on the table for 30 days under terms of the City Charter. Final approval is scheduled for May 9, 2016. In both cases, the lots were obtained by the city in 2013 and 2014 as part of an ongoing blight removal program.
