Nearly $915,000 has been raised for the reconstruction of the Heritage Park tennis courts.
COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – City Manager Jeff Budd said during Monday nights Coldwater City Council meeting that work has already started. The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has shut off power to the court so you can no longer play tennis at night. The lights will not be restored until after the renovation is finished.
Although the courts are expected to still be useable until the full reconstruction start date of May 15; residents are encouraged to use caution around the construction areas.
The final designs from Integrated Architecture have been approved and Budd is hoping bids will be opened in a couple of weeks.
Money is still being raised. The fundraising committee received donations from dozens of corporations, individuals and service clubs.
The crowd funding program in which $50,000 was raised in less than 30 days for a state matching grant was also included in the total.
