ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – For the second time in less than two weeks there has been an armed robbery in Angola. Angola Police are looking for a man who held up the Family Dollar Store in the Country Fair Shopping Plaza on North Wayne Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the suspect was not wearing a mask and appeared to have acne scars on his face. He walked into the store at about 3:35 p.m. and ordered the clerks at gun point to remove the money from the cash registers and then instructed them to get on the ground.Customers who were in the store were able to call 911.
The suspect ran from the store and headed north. K-9 units from Angola and Hamilton were brought in to help with the search but the robber got away with an unknown amount of money. No injuries were reported.The suspect is described as a man in his late 30s to early 40s who is five-foot-six and weighs 150 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a red colored stocking cap, a blue coat, blue jeans and a pair of white sunglasses.
Angola Police are asking for assistance from anyone who may have seen anything in the area between 3:38 p.m. and 3:50 p.m.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Hamilton Police, the Indiana D.N.R. and Steuben County Communications assisted.
