BRONSON, MI (WTVB) -A man who was convicted for operating and maintaining a methamphetamine lab by a Branch County Circuit Court Jury following a two day trial in February was sentenced on Monday.
53-year-old Douglas Huey was told by Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady to serve between 15 and 40 years in prison. Huey had his sentence enhanced since he is a four time habitual offender.
Huey was arrested on the latest charge last September.
His arrest was unrelated to a fire at a home on Greenfield Road in Noble Township in September of 2013. Huey was living in the home at time when a suspected meth lab was found by firefighters.
A candle in a bedroom window was listed as the probable cause of the $15,000 fire by the Bronson Fire Department.
