MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – A 59-year-old man from Vancouver, Washington was killed Friday morning when his stopped car was struck from behind by a semi-tractor trailer on eastbound I-94 near I-69 in Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened at about 2:15 a.m.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the collision.
No names will be released until family notification is made.
The investigation is being handled by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Division.
The accident forced a shutdown of the interstate until just after 6:00 a.m.
