COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Over 100 members and guests were on hand recently as the Community Health Center of Branch County held its annual recognition dinner for CHC volunteers.
The volunteers work in many areas. The most popular volunteer positions are the Lobby Gift Shop, Welcome Desk, Surgical Hostess, Laboratory, Cancer Center and the clinics in all areas in the community.
Those attending heard the story of volunteer Ed Stone who started at the Welcome Desk for four hours a week. He now averages 16 hours a week volunteering at the Welcome Desk, Pharmacy Department and the Quincy Clinic.
Volunteers this year presented a check for $5,000 making their second installment of a five year commitment towards the purchase of a new MRI unit for CHC. The money comes from the many fundraisers that the volunteers held during the past year.
Many of the volunteers received pins and were honored for achieving a specific number of hours of service.
