MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The identity of the man who was killed Friday morning in a gruesome accident on I-94 near I-69 in Calhoun County has been released.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department identifies him as 59-year-old Pavel Shabinevich from Vancouver, Washington.
Toxicology and autopsy reports are pending. No other information is being released at this time.
He was killed when his car was struck from behind by a semi-tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Alcohol was initially thought to be a contributing factor in the collision.
The accident forced a shutdown of the interstate for several hours.
