BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A $975 mini grant has been awarded to Bronson Community Schools educator Pam Losinski from the Guido and Elizabeth Binda Foundation which is administered through the Calhoun Intermediate School District.
The grant was awarded for Bronson’s Flipping for Math project and it was one of 20 mini grants that were available.
The concept behind a Flipped Classroom is that students are exposed to the content that will be covered in class beforehand instead of the traditional way of having students hear about the course content during the class.
In a Flipped Classroom, students review course content by watching a video of a lecture or finishing a reading assignment.
With the funds, the school purchased an iPad and three tablets to flip the calculus classroom.
One focus grant and 20 mini grants totaling just over $25,000 were provided by the foundation.
