STURGIS, MI (WTVB) -A Sturgis woman has been charged with embezzlement for allegedly taking over $32,000 from the Sturgis Youth Soccer Organization.
42-year-old Tammy Cain was arraigned in St. Joseph County District Court on Wednesday.
A court spokesperson says she is free on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond. A preliminary exam has been scheduled for May 10t, 2016.
The Sturgis Journal reports Cain is a former board member for the youth soccer organization and that there were 20 alleged incidents between January 2013 and October 2014 in which Cain is accused by prosecutors of using money from the league for personal purposes.
