HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A Hillsdale man was given a prison sentence of between five and 15 years on Friday after he entered a no-contest plea to involuntary manslaughter.
29-year-old Steven Francis Swan waived his preliminary exam and entered the no contest plea on March 17 in Hillsdale County District Court in connection with the January 9, 2016 death of 67-year-old Gary Arsenault of North Adams.
Swan was sentenced by Judge Michael Smith after the case was bound over to Circuit Court.
Swan was charged after Hillsdale County authorities say he threw Arsenault to the floor during a party.
