STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – A Sturgis woman has died from her injuries after she was struck by a car while walking her dog on Wednesday night.
Sturgis Police say 20-year-old Michal Charity Webb died at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Her dog was also killed in the accident that happened at about 7:45pm Wednesday night at the intersection of South Centreville and West Fawn River Roads.
The driver was identified as a 25 year old woman from Howe, Indiana.
The investigation by Sturgis Police is continuing. Police say any criminal charges will be forwarded to the St. Joseph County Prosecutors office for review.
Police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the accident. Michigan State Police assisted Sturgis Police.
