ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Angola man was killed Thursday morning when his car crash into a truck on U.S. 20 just east of Angola High School.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says 27-year-old Adam L. Fell was killed in the accident which happened just after 5:00 a.m.
They say Fell was traveling west when for some unknown reason, Fell drove his Oldsmobile Alero left of center and collided with an eastbound Peterbuilt semi-tractor trailer driven by 26-year-old Chinzorigt Boldbaater of Darien, Illinois. Police say Boldbaatar tried to avoid the collision by steering to the right and applying the brakes but the vehicles collided head on.
Fell was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags deployed. Boldbaatar was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting at the scene were Angola Police, Angola Fire/Rescue and the Indiana State Police Motor Carrier. The crash affected traffic on U.S. 20 for several hours.
