UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Southern Michigan Bank & Trust is the proud sponsor of the new scoreboard at Union City’s Alumni Field.
After some delays due in part to the weather, the new scoreboard will be commemorated during a ceremony on Saturday in between games of Union City’s baseball doubleheader with Pittsford.
Peanuts, Cracker Jack and souvenirs will be available during Saturday’s Take Me Out To Alumni Field.
You may recall Southern Michigan Bank and Trust donated $32,000 in 2011 to the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary and the Coldwater American Amateur Baseball Congress to underwrite improvements at Lowe Field and at Borden Field.
$20,000 was used for the construction of new spectator stands along with a press box, concession stand, restrooms and scoreboard renovation at Lowe Field. The rest of the money was used for a new electronic scoreboard at Borden Field.
