COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The reenactment of the 1861 Battle of Rich Mountain is one of the highlights for this weekend’s Civil War Days at Heritage Park in Coldwater.
Activities begin Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. with a free guided tour of Oak Grove Cemetery. On Friday, over 800 students from schools from across Branch County will attend Education Day at Heritage Park.
Other weekend highlights include the opportunity to ride a train with President Lincoln. Tickets for the train ride with the President and for the Great Train robbery on Saturday are required. They are available at various area businesses.
The battle reenactments of Rich Mountain are scheduled to take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Outside of the train rides, all of the other activities will be free.
