COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After being recommended for the job by Superintendent Joe Lopez last month, the Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education officially approved the promotion of Randy Sowles to become the new principal of the Branch Area Careers Center on Wednesday.
Sowles had been serving as the assistant principal. He will take over as principlal from Mike Hoffner who is retiring next month.
Hoffner, along with Special Education Lead Supervisor Jane Nastally and 13 other employees of the B.I.S.D. who are retiring, were recognized at the BISD board meeting for their contributions to the district.
The Board also approved the hiring of Hilary Curtis as the Special Education Supervisor for 2016-2017. She has worked in education since 2003 in Constantine, Portage and in the St. Joseph County I.S.D.. Karolyn Roberts was also hired as Administrative Assistant for Technical Enrichment.
