BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball Saturday, Bronson finished second in their Polish Classic as they lost to Parchment 4-1 in the championship game. The Vikings advanced to the finals by defeating Comstock 7-0. Brenden Bell had three hits against Comstock while winning pitcher Daniel McMichael went the distance and struck out 10.
Union City lost both of their games in the tournament as they were shut out by Parchment 2-0 and lost to Comstock in the consolation game 6-5.
—GIRLS SOFTBALL—
Bronson split a doubleheader with Buchanan after two teams that were scheduled to play in the softball part of the Polish Classic dropped out. Bronson won the first game 4-3 before losing the nightcap 9-3. Adyson Lasky pitched a complete game to get the win in the opener. Payton Robinson had three hits including a homer and three RBI’s. Kiera Lasky and Scyler both had two hits in the second game. The Vikings are now 21-14.
—-BOYS GOLF—-
Coldwater finished its regular season events on Saturday with both the Varsity and JV teams playing in the Fremont Invitational which was played at the Coldwater Golf Course. Coldwater’s Varsity team won the 12 team event firing a team score of 324 which was three strokes better than Dekalb, Indiana.
Coldwater was led by Nathan Waterbury who finished in a tie for second place with a round of 78. Also making the All – Tournament team were Cam Ruge who finished in fifthplace, with an 81, Nolan Duda was sixth firing an 82, and Keagan Dwyer finished in seventh place with an 83. Nick Galliers rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a score of 88.
Coldwater’s B team came in fourth with a score of 345. Alec Keplinger led the team with a round of 84 followed by Collin Warner who shot an 85, Tanner Bowers carded an 87, Jacob Fair had an 89 and Kyle Herman rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 90.
Coldwater will be participating in the MHSAA Regional Tournament this Thursday at the Coldwater Golf Course..

Coldwater’s boys finished 13th in the Division Two Standings at the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association Team State Meet at Linden on Saturday. The meet is for schools that won their regional last week or are featured in the association’s power rankings.
The Cardinals took the top three positions in the shot put. Conner Covert won the event with a distance of 53 feet, three-and-a-half inches. Sam Demeester was second and Zach Gipple was third. Covert also won the discus with a distance of 158 feet, three inches. Coldwater also got a top ten finish from Jaden Coney who was sixth in the long jump.
