COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Coldwater Fire Department officials are listing sparks from a nearby burn pit as the reason why a single car detached garage in the 200 block of Morse Street caught on fire late Monday night.
Firefighters were called the Tammy Mueller property at 11:42 p.m. It was initially thought the fire in the burn pit had been put out but that was not the case.
Officials say there was moderate to heavy damage to the garage and contents.
A nearby fence and other items outside of the garage were also damaged.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes.
