COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Board of Trustees for the Community Health Center of Branch County approved the dissolving of the Branch County Position Hospital Organization on Tuesday.
C.H.C. President and C.E.O. Randy DeGroot says the P.H.O. has been fairly dormant in recent years after starting in 1977. It was a mechanism to contract with the move by the State to go to Medicade managed care programs.
He felt in today’s environment of more individual practices being pursued to join initiatives, the P.H.O. was holding the hospital back in some ways since it was holding some old contracts.
DeGroot said the board action was needed after the P.H.O. recently motioned to dissolve itself.
