COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It turned into a busy Friday for law enforcement and rescue crews in Branch County thanks to at least two accidents.
One person was injured in a two vehicle crash at East Chicago and Michigan Avenue in the heart of Coldwater’s “Burger Alley” which took place at about 12:30 p.m.
A car wound up on its top. Coldwater Police are investigating. Some folks who stepped out for lunch were probably late getting back to the office. One listener says traffic on East Chicago was backed up all the way to the Community Health Center of Branch County following the accident.
That accident follows a semi crash on I-69 Friday morning which shut down the northbound lanes at the Kinderhook exit for several hours.
The semi, which was hauling glass for automobiles, wound up on its side blocked both lanes of traffic after the accident happened at about 7:50am. Only one lane was open early this afternoon.
The driver suffered an injury but it was said to be non-life threatening.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
