COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Community Foundation says they have received a donation from Dr. David and Del Rubley for the Tennis Court Renovation Fund.
The Rubleys have supported tennis for many years in Coldwater. They sponsored and ran youth tennis tournaments, assisted high school coaches and were involved in the formation of the Branch County Tennis Club.
Their children Jason and Gretchen both played on state-ranked Coldwater teams coached by Doug Lake.
The Rubleys are members of the Coldwater High School and Michigan High School Tennis Halls of Fame.
Their donation will go toward the construction of eight new post-tension concrete courts.
Work is expected to be complete in time for the start of the boys tennis season in August.
