COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school baseball, Coldwater and Jackson Lumen Christi have scheduled a doubleheader for this afternoon as the two teams get ready for MHSAA Regionals this Saturday. The twinbill at Lowe Field will get underway at 5:00 p.m.
The field is now set for the Division Two Regional Baseball Tournament at Stevensville-Lakeshore. Sturgis won a rain-delayed district championship on their diamond Monday night as they defeated Plainwell 2-1 in 11 innings in the semifinals and then knocked off Vicksburg 3-2 in the championship game. Last Saturday’s rain forced the two games to be postponed until Monday.
Coldwater will play Niles in the first regional semifinal at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning followed by Sturgis against South Haven at 12:30 p.m. The finals are scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
—GIRLS SOFTBALL—
Vicksburg was the final team to advance to the Division Two Girls Softball Regionals at Stevensville-Lakeshore as they defeated Sturgis 17-0 in the district finals at Sturgis on Monday. The Vicksburg-Sturgis title game was postponed last Saturday because of rain.
Vicksburg will play St. Joseph in the first Regional semifinal at 10:00am on Saturday followed by Coldwater against Edwardsburg at 12 noon. The finals are scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
