COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department Posse and the Hillsdale County Mounted Division will be hosting the annual Pony Express Ride in Coldwater this weekend.
They are pressing forward with the event following last weeks death of Branch County Posse Member Mike Winter.
Posse member Tim Sherman there will be two days of event including a mail ride in the southern part of Branch County on Saturday.
Posse member Stub Hoag says the Posse does more than just ride in parades. They pick up stray animals and help in searches for lost persons.
There will be over 60 riders from around Michigan taking part in a parade through downtown Coldwater starting at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Funds from the event will be used to help out two local children and their families.
