COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The first of two public information meetings on a millage question for a new Branch County Jail will be held on Thursday night at the Coldwater Township Hall starting at 6:30 p.m.
Branch County voters will be asked on August 2, 2016 to approve a 20 year millage question to help fund the nearly $29.25 million jail project.
Another information meeting will be held on July 26 at the Community Health Center of Branch County Community Care and Conference Center.
Construction is expected to start next spring if voters approve the millage request.
Branch County voters rejected a millage question for a new county jail almost a decade ago.
