COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who was accused of threatening two people with a knife in Quincy in May of 2014 entered no contest pleas to a pair of charges in Branch County Circuit Court on Monday.
Court officials say 27-year-old Edgar Alvarez entered the pleas to charges of assault with a weapon and malicious destruction of property under $200. Five other charges would be dismissed by prosecutors including two counts of assault with intent to murder and another assault charge in exchange for the no contest pleas as part of the plea bargain agreement.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 15, 2016.
