COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Thanks to support from the F. Harold and Lillian Creal Endowment Fund of the Branch County Community Foundation, the Tibbits Opera House is now offering the newest technology in hearing assistance.
American Loop Services of Shelby, Michigan has installed equipment throughout the theatre to enhance the sound for patrons.
Scott Peyton of American Loop Services says anyone with a telecoil-compatible hearing aid can use the system at Tibbits without additional equipment.
Peyton says they can switch their existing hearing aid to the ‘telecoil’ position and they are wired directly into the sound system.
Listening devices utilizing the same technology are also available for those without hearing aids who would like to enhance the sound.
Patrons can choose from an over the ear speaker, a clip on device, or they may bring their own ear buds or headphones to plug into the small rectangular transmitter box.
Additional improvements through the coming weeks include the addition of reflective surfaces in the orchestra pit and other locations in the auditorium. These modifications, will provide improvement for voices in musicals presented with live music in the orchestra pit.
