COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – National Weather Service forecasters are expecting a wide area of severe weather late Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning in southern Michigan and northern Indiana.
During a multi-media briefing on Tuesday, it was indicated that high winds of nearly 60 miles an hour were a big concern.
Heavy rain of one to two inches is also expected with locally heavier amounts possible.
Hail is expected in isolated areas with the greatest threat of tornados south of U.S. 30 in Indiana.
Branch County is in an area that has a moderate risk for severe weather sometime between 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 2:00 a.m. Thursday.
Severe storms are possible today in southwest Michigan along a line from Holland to Battle Creek and south to the Indiana border.
Crews from Indiana Michigan Power are still working to restore electricity in Berrien and Cass counties as a result of a line of strong storms that swept through the far southern part of west Michigan on Monday.
