JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police from the Jackson Post say they have investigated 80 non-compliant sex offenders in Jackson and Hillsdale Counties since February.
Michigan Law requires that sex offenders in Michigan comply with the state’s Sex Offender Registration Act. Failing to comply can result in criminal prosecution.
There are 96 non-compliant sex offenders in the Jackson Post area according to the registry.
Of the 80 that have been investigated, 27 sex offenders have been arrested. Troopers have warrants for another 17 more non-compliant sex offenders. Another 21 investigations are pending further review at prosecutor’s office.

The public is also asked to report any noncompliant sex offender to the Michigan State Police.
