COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was a mess just to the east of downtown Coldwater Monday morning after a semi knocked down a utility pole and took out some wires near the intersection of East Chicago and Morse.
Traffic had to be rerouted away from the scene and onto Sprague and Marshall Streets.
No injuries have been reported.
Coldwater Police are investigating the accident.
Then just as things were settling down, another accident on Western Avenue near West Chicago at about 1:10pm took out more BPU equipment.
The accident was apparently caused by a driver with a medical emergency. It’s not known how many BPU customers lost power. While most of the power was restored at mid afternoon, an outage of approximately 10-12 hours was anticipated for Farm Lane and the Oakdale Condos.
