COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A strong storm early Tuesday night knocked down numerous trees, poles and power lines in and around Coldwater.
The storm came through at about 7:15pm.
A garage sustained substantial damage when an uprooted tree that was estimated to be one to two feet in diameter came crashing down.
There were reports of trees falling onto structures in the 100 block of South Clay, as well as on North Fremont, Orchard, Pearl, and Walnut Streets. A tree and wires reportedly fell on a house on Jackson Street. A large tree fell on East Chicago Street near Morse Street and disrupted traffic for a short time.
After spending a long day repairing equipment on Monday following a pair of traffic accidents, Coldwater Board of Public Utilities crews worked until 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning as they had to make numerous repairs following the storm.
Despite the stormy weather, no watches or warnings were issued by the National Weather Service.
