COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners accepted a number of annual department reports on Tuesday.
Among them was a report from Pines Mental Health Executive Director Sue Germann who said the number of people being served is decreasing slightly every year but their general fund has taken a hit thanks to the expansion of Medicaid.
Commission Chair Don Vrablic reported the Branch County Road Commission got $9.3 million in funds last year compared to $6.5 million in 2014.
He said $1.8 million came from the federal government to replace the Athens Road bridge last summer. Vrablic added the Road Commission has already gotten money for the Arborgast Road bridge project and that bids will be going out in the fall.
