COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Despite a couple of downpours over the last week, parts of Branch County are considered abnormally dry according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report which was released on Thursday.
Those areas include the northeastern part of the county and the extreme southwestern part.
Abnormally dry areas are not considered to be drought areas yet or they are recovering from a drought.
The northern part of Hillsdale County and the southern part of Calhoun County are also considered to be abnormally dry.
A moderate drought continues in Jackson County and northern Calhoun County.
