COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – No action on agenda items could be taken by the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority on Wednesday due to the lack of a quorum but they got an update on the proposed downtown Center Pointe Apartment Project from Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker.
Baker said the City Council approved an amendment to the city’s Zoning Ordinance on Monday night which increases the maximum height for buildings in the C-2 Central Business District from 45 to 60 feet.
Baker said an important deadline will be coming up October 1, 2016 when the developers apply to the State of Michigan for local tax financing with an answer expected by the end of the year.
Plans call for construction to take about a year following the groundbreaking in spring 2017. The site plan at the former location of Taylor Stationer’s will be reviewed by the Coldwater Planning Commission next Monday.
