COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just about all of Branch County is no longer considered abnormally dry according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report that was released on Thursday.
Only the extreme northeast corner of Branch County is abnormally dry along with northern Hillsdale County and extreme southern St. Joseph County.
Coldwater has gotten six tenths of an inch of rain since July 12th and www.accuweather.com says the city is about three inches below the average rainfall total for the month.
Just about all of Jackson County and northeastern Calhoun County are in a moderate drought.
Thanks to some recent rain, the U.S. Drought Monitor shows that conditions in most of southwest Michigan are now normal.
