COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission will be asked to approve four site plans on Monday night.
One of them involves a proposed downtown apartment complex.
Excel Realty is hoping to clear another hurdle as they are seeking preliminary approval for their site plan of a new 48 unit apartment building and the renovation of the former Taylor’s Stationers store at 60 West Chicago. They plan to put in 10 multiple family residential units in the building and have commercial space on the first floor.
The Planning Commission will also be asked to approve the site plan for the 107,000 square foot Schmitz Foam industrial facility at 188 Treat Avenue. Nearly 40 jobs will be created as Schmitz plans to establish its North American headquarters in Coldwater.
Also on the agenda will be two site plan approval requests from the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities for a new 21 acre electric utility substation on Jonesville Road and for a new 1,500 square foot municipal water booster station on Seeley Street.
