COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The area finally got some rain last night. The web site accuweather.com says Coldwater got .05″ of rain for Friday which was the first measurable rain during the month of August.
But some heavy rain that went through southwest Michigan on Friday night missed Branch County.
The National Weather Service has a flood warning in effect until 12:30pm Saturday for Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Eaton, Allegan, Van Buren and Barry Counties.
It’s estimated three to four inches of rain fell in an area from near Schoolcraft northeast through Ceresco and into the Eaton Rapids area. Another area of heavy rain stretched from Paw Paw into the Alamo area.
Almost 3 ½ inches of rain fell at Paw Paw but there were no reports of significant flooding. Runoff continues in the areas that had the torrential rain. Small streams and rivers were expected to have rapid rises.
