COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Miner told County Commissioners during their work session on Wednesday that the county did not have any serious problems during the heavy rain which fell Monday night and Tuesday morning.
No Branch County roads had to be shut down for high water even though three to five inches of rain fell.
Miner also reported that they will be working on active shooter drills and they will have a drill soon with the Village of Union City that will deal with the Riley Dam emergency plan.
Miner and Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler reported no major problems during the recently completed Branch County Fair.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Community Health Center of Branch County and MERS are now scheduled to appear before Commissioners during their September 1st work session. C.H.C. wants to change retirement plans in anticipation of ProMedica’s purchase of the hospital but a couple of Commissioners have expressed reservations about the request.
