COLON, MI (WTVB) – The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is looking into a pursuit involving two high speed motorcycles that took place last Saturday.
Deputies say the motorcycles were on M-66 near Jacksonburg Road traveling at over 120 miles an hour.
They caught up and tried to make traffic stops but both vehicles fled east on M-86 towards Colon as they reached speeds of nearly 140 miles an hour.
The suspects tried to hide behind a home in the area of Swan and South Streets in Colon.
Deputies were able to take a 37-year-old suspect from Kalamazoo into custody on charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
The second suspect fled on M-86 heading west from Colon and then south on Fairfax Road.
Deputies ended the pursuit once they lost sight of the second suspect.
The second suspect was said to be wearing a white jersey with a black checkered pattern and a red stripe.
