COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler told County Commissioners during their work session on Wednesday that Animal Control Officer Ernie Baker was recently scratched by a cat as he tried to euthanize the animal.
He said Baker was by himself at the time and they may need an additional person assisting in the future.
Although it had been used sparingly for a number of years, the Branch County Animal Control Shelter gas chamber was shut down earlier this year.
On another matter, Eichler said an application for the secondary road patrol grant totaling $69,000 has been submitted.
The one year grant would start on October 1st.
