STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man is dead after a motorcycle crash just east of Sturgis Thursday afternoon.
Michigan State Police say a motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Zachariah Himebaugh slammed into the back of a pick-up truck that had slowed to make a turn into a driveway along U.S. 12 near Sweet Lake Road at about 3:30 p.m.
Troopers say that Himebaugh may have been speeding westbound on his 2012 Kawasaki when he collision occurred. The driver of the pick-up, 45-year-old Matthew Schwartz, and his passenger were not injured.
U.S. 12 was closed and traffic rerouted for nearly three hours for the crash investigation and cleanup.
