COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – City of Coldwater Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker says he has been contacted by a number of downtown building owners who maybe interested in converting their second or third story downtown spaces into apartments.
A meeting has been scheduled in the Henry Brown Municipal Building at 5:30 p.m. September 27 with a representative from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, who will discuss programs available from the state.
Baker says the programs could assist in creating new rental units, improve facades and remove blight downtown.
They are targeted to existing traditional downtowns and require a minimum match of 25 percent from building owners.
The meeting on September 27 is open to any downtown building owner or interested developer.
