COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A pair of Indiana residents were sentenced on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after they were arrested June 10, 2016 on numerous drug charges.
28-year-old Kasey Giffin of Fremont and 22-year-old Felicia Giffin of Angola both entered guilty pleas to possession of methamphetamine charges as part of plea bargain agreements.
In exchange for the guilty pleas, prosecutors dismissed four other charges against Kasey Giffin while six other charges against Felicia Giffin were dropped.
Kasey Giffin was told to serve six months with credit for 73 days already. He was placed on two years probation and fined $250.
Felicia Giffin was ordered to serve five months and was fined $250. She also got credit for 73 days served and was placed on probation for one year.
Court documents indicate the arrests took place after Kasey Giffin, who had a warrant for his arrest out of Steuben County, had come to the Coldwater Meijer Store to allegedly buy pseudoephedrine in order to make meth. The Giffins were among four persons arrested in connection with the investigation.
