JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s varsity girls golf team finished fourth on Monday at the Hanover Horton Invitational held at the Cascades Golf Course in Jackson. Coldwater had a team score of 413. Jackson Lumen Christi won the event with a score of 361.
Coldwater was led by Claire Sheppard who shot a 100, Hunter Jenkot and Molly Smith each had 103’s, Jayla Goodwin carded a 107 and Micki Slack rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a round of 111.
Coldwater’s JV team won a Jamboree on Monday that Coldwater hosted with a round of 226. Marshall was 2nd, Battle Creek Lakeview took 3rd and Harper Creek was in 4th place.
Coldwater’s Gabriel Boston was Medalist with a round of 53, followed by Abigail Coffing with a 55, Elloree Madden shot a 57, Ryleigh Collins carded a 61, Melissa Vozar shot a 66, Avery Volkmer had a 67, Sabrina VanAuker shot a 68, and Mackenzie Koch rounded out the scoring with a 72.
—GIRLS VOLLEYBALL—
Coldwater won four matches and tied another on Monday in a round robin tournament at Vicksburg.
The Cardinals defeated Parchment 25-19, 25-15; St. Joe 25-17, 25-19; Stevensville-Lakeshore 25-22, 25-22 and Thornapple Kellogg 25-21, 25-17 before tying Vicksburg 25-23, 23-25. Jamie Wellet had 60 assists and six aces while Jasmine Wellet had 30 kills and Drue Mullin recorded 38 digs. Tyler Scheid had nine blocks. Malorie Rzepka had 11 kills and 14 digs. Coldwater is now 9-1-1 for the season.
Coldwater’s freshman volleyball team finished fourth at the Vicksburg Invitational on Monday as their record is now 3-6. Alexa Davenport had eight kills while Taylor Wilber had 11 assists and two aces, Jasmine Coppess had four aces and LInzy Monks had five blocks.

Coldwater won the Paw Paw invitational on Monday over Paw Paw, Marshall and Harper Creek.
Flight champions were Austin Butler at number three singles, Porter Skidmore at number four singles and the 3rd doubles team of Kyle Krzyzanski and Alec Keplinger.Flight runners up were Kam Miller at #1 singles and Shane O’Grady at #2 singles. The number one doubles team of Mitchell Duda and Christian Pine were runners-up as were Noah Waterbury and Sam Morrison at number two doubles.The Cardinals travel to the Holt Invitational tomorrow to play Holt, Williamston and DeWitt.
