COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners accepted an annual report from the County’s Department of Health and Human Services during a mostly routine 10 minute meeting on Tuesday.
The local D.H.H.S. office reported they spent over $7 million of state and federal funds on human services needs in Branch County last year. That does not include Medicade expenditures.
They reported to Commissioners that of the 596 complaints that were assigned for investigation last year, 178 were confirmed for Child Abuse and or Neglect.
Over 24,000 confirmed cases of Child Abuse or Neglect were reported in Michigan during 2015.
